I believe community service makes our world a better place. The needs we fulfill and roles we play often depend on where we are needed most. A recent Triangle TRACKS project, “HALOs for Haiti’s Littlest Angels,” raised funds for an orphanage in Haiti called God’s Littlest Angels. Learn more about that here.
I currently serve as publicity chair and secretary for Boy Scouts Troop 316 in Apex, N.C. I am also the Turner Creek Elementary representative and secretary for Wake County Public School System’s District 8 Board Advisory Council. I am secretary and newsletter chair forĀ Lufkin Road Middle School’s PTA. I also volunteer my publicity services to write press releases for PAGE, Partners for the Advancement of Gifted Education, as well as various non-profit organizations.
One of the most moving community service needs I help fulfill is to serve as a Caregiver through my church,
St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex. Caregivers prepare meals when a family faces illness or death. These families experience so many difficulties, that receiving a hot meal makes everything a little easier.
